I did the house line with my rough collie. I got them at the dollar store so I wasn't upset when he chewed threw a few. He had bad nipping behavior and loved to torment the cats and robot vacuum, steal stuff etc.. it was a great training tool. Now he's 4 and the best boy.

I tried 3x to put a house line on my shepherd. He destroyed all of them. The last one being an indestructible lupine. He had that chewed apart within an hour. His recall is to "good boy" from training, not his name 😂😂😂

She has been amazing with our family but spooks more easily than other dogs I’ve had. She’s still only 11 weeks and we’ve had her for one week, so I’m so glad I saw this video while we are early in our training journey.

Oh my goodness, my mom just purchased a new puppy for me, He is a Mal Shi and will be nearly 11 weeks old when I get him. I am so confused about training him and my 86 year old mother who grew up in Florida in a house when doggie was allowed to run wild. I live in an apartment building . I am attempting to learn everything about puppies today but I also want my elderly mother to be part of his life…Any advice?????

What a good dog

I just bought a gentle leader for the first time. The clasp for the loop that goes around the nose keeps opening. I don’t have it too tight. It opens no matter if I have it on my dog or not. Is it supposed to open so easily or is the clasp broken?

I like your videos, well some of them, but what I don't like is that you (and others) often take the easy route by choosing an easy dog. This video is an example. You start the video of a hyperactive, single-minded dog that darts out of the door, pulls and doesn't listen. A dog that never appears in the video again. What do you do? You switch to a placid, pretty chilled toy breed to demonstrate with, who is already 90% of the way there and you know it going to pay you some attention. I don't want to be one of those internet 'haters' because I don't hate your videos, but I just think it's disingenuous and when people's "leash walking is failing", is often because they have a dog like the first one that just doesn't stand there next to the car watching the world go by

This video is amazing. It literally took two corrections using this method and my cavapoo completely stopped biting.

My little puppy is so intelligent. He has been excellent about not having accidents in the house but I have kept him on a food schedule and take him out every 2 hours. I watch him like a hawk inside the house and it has been exhausting but I'm willing to make the sacrifice now for the reward later.

Have you used this method for a dog that grew into a soft mouth retriever as an adult?

Our 9 month old puppy responds very well to treats and praise at home, but shows zero interest in treats when we go for a walk or to the dog park, as all the sights and sounds are far more interesting to him in those settings. Any suggestions for getting his focus when treats aren’t working?

We are not quite to this level of leash walking. Can you share a link to the video that addresses the very beginning of leash training?
